On Board the Magical Kinship

"My essence is shimmering beneath the fast-fading autumn colours and I'm lifted with the sounds of crystal singing bowls. And, beneath the harvest moon, past midnight, I've stood at my window watching clouds shape-shift, and I think of all us star-kin, shape-shifting the world with our weaving thoughts."

It's been a while since I posted here, but I've been busy in one dimension or another.

I've worked on new projects. One of those is my free light-filled love letter for the Magical Kinship. Want to hop on board? If so, go here.

Another project is a new blog about my experiential journey, which will offer lots of hints and ideas for how to be the positive change you wish to be in the world. More about that anon.

And, yet another completed project ~ The Kestrel's Gift (new edition). More details here.

Last month, I gave a talk at the Well Barn in Little Crosby, Merseyside. Beautiful people, and such a beautiful atmosphere. And I'm continuing to receive such fantastic feedback about Light Weaver, which is most encouraging. I'm also being asked when my next novel is available. Realistically, it'll be 2013 before I can invest the time and energy needed to bring the novel into this dimension. Oh, but it'll arrive when it's ready, and that will be the right time.

Much love, star-brights.

On Board the Mobile Library

On Monday 30th July, I returned to Cumbria with my novel, Light Weaver, for an extra special book signing on board the mobile library. It was a momentus occasion for me to take the book back to where it all began some four years ago. It was also, perhaps, a novelty for the mobile library readers as the event was a first of its kind (as far as we know) in South Lakes.

After a quick interview with the fabulous Ian Timms of BBC Radio Cumbria, I travelled north with that familiar feeling of going home. I journeyed under a dramatic sky, with ever changing light, rainbow flashes, and ominous cloud that has been typical of this strange summer.

Upon arrival, I met the lovely library staff. I was treated to a tour of Kendal's stunning Carnegie library on Stricklandgate before setting off to the historic South Lakes villages of Burton and Holme to meet readers on board the mobile library.

There were moments where I felt as if I'd stepped into scenes from Light Weaver. I was half expecting the singing psychic to make an appearance, dancing up and down the street as I signed copies of the book. And, perhaps he did!

Time passed quickly as it always does when you're having fun, and I left the mobile library to continue its adventures into the heart of Light Weaver country.
After a walk by the river and a delicious late veggie lunch at Kendal's Waterside cafe, I made my way to Silverdale, where I often find Light Weaver's Tom and Cali watching the tidal bore. Sometimes, I see the mobile library there, too, although I'm not sure whether it's in this dimension or another.

Thank you to Cumbria Library Services for making the event possible and to Dave and Sam (either of them could have been mistaken for Tom!) for looking after me on the mobile library.  Also, thanks to the lovely Cumbrian folk who gave me such a warm welcome.

Book Signing in the Mobile Library

I'm really excited to announce that, thanks to Cumbria Library Services, I'll be on board the mobile library in Burton and in Holme (South Lakes) on the morning of Monday 30th July to meet readers and sign copies of my debut novel, Light Weaver.

As you can imagine, I'm thrilled to be returning to the Lakes (the setting for my novel) and what a treat to be meeting readers on board the mobile library. I wonder if Tom and Cali, my main characters, will appear?  It wouldn’t surprise me if elements of my story spilled into this dimension and created something extraordinary on the day.

If you're in South Lakeland on the morning of July 30th, it would be wonderful to see you. I'll be in the mobile library in Burton between 10 and 11am and Holme between 11:30 and 12:30. Signed copies of Light Weaver will be available, which will also include a free cosmic message!

New Writing and New Projects

'The hours turn into days and pass like remnants of a dream. A battle is raging on these dark days of summer as weird suffocating cloud steals the light. Little do the dark ones know that lanterns are being lit and are burning bright.' - Carol Anne Strange

I've started work on The Science of Love, a new collection of writing comprising of 11 stories, observations, and contemplations of new and remastered works. The collection focuses on the rhythms of life, weaving between the ordinary and the extraordinary, and the writing is experimental and eclectic, drawing upon a variety of experiences and dreams. Influences include music, art, and poetry, and each story carries a message.

The first piece has been released as a quick-read story single on Kindle titled Beneath a Wishing Moon. You can find it on amazon US or amazon UK.

There is a rumour that I'll be working on a new novel in 2013. This rumour could be true and depends upon where I am at that point and whether Light Weaver reaches enough readers. Oh, but I'm on my starsong journey, and I'm here to do the work I came to do.

Right now, I'm the night owl and the day bird, weaving new writing and new projects into this dimension. I'm working on a magical side project, too, which I can't wait to share with you.

Much gratitude for all the wonderful messages that keep coming in about Light Weaver. I'm quite overwhelmed and brightened by the positive impact the book is having on many of my readers.

I'll post more news soon. Keep weaving the light, star-brights.

Light Weaver Makes Its Debut

It's been a few years in the making - much longer than I anticipated - but my debut novel, Light Weaver, has finally made its gentle entry into this realm.

My wish is that Light Weaver will reach all you beautiful souls who are meant to connect with the work. My greatest wish is that the story remains in your hearts and minds long after you reach the end.

So, what is Light Weaver about?  Well, it's a contemporary story with a fantastical twist set in the English Lake District. It’s a tale about love, transience, and the nature of reality ... a story full of secrets, signs, and symbolism.
If you've ever questioned the world around you or imagined there's more to life than what is perceived, you may well enjoy or find some resonance with this curious tale.

Light Weaver is available in paperback and Kindle formats. Find out more, including details of ordering options on Amazon UK and Amazon .com

If you'd like to read an extract before you buy, take a 'look inside' on Amazon.

You can also order a copy from you local book shop or library.

If you enjoy Light Weaver, it would be fantastic if you could leave a review on Amazon or Goodreads and also encourage your like-minded friends to buy the novel. As a full-time writer, this would help immensely and ensure that I'm supported while working on new stories.

Also, if Light Weaver inspires you in some way or you have any strange happenings after reading the novel, do please let me know. Fact is often stranger than fiction and there may well be a message for you inbetween the lines!

Thank you for your wonderful presence and for sharing the journey. Have a magnificent May. Bright wishes, star-lights.

Weaving Stories

I'm currently writing a short story, based on one of my old film scripts. If it manifests in the way I'd like, it will be a vision-stimulating spectacle about life's transience. First, I have to leap across the chasm that exists between imagination and expression...

The story should appear before the next full moon and will be available as a free read for a limited time only.

Right now, in this still moment, I'm taking a slow breath. My novel, Light Weaver, will be released within days, moving quietly through the veils into this reality. You'll most likely hear about it first on my Facebook and Twitter and I'll post links as soon as the Kindle and print version are available.

What I've Been Doing ...

'There are messages in the light ~ a story of beginnings and endings.'

Here are just a few things I've been doing (or I've done by being) since my last communication ...

* I've worked with creative alchemists to prepare my debut novel for publication. Almost there now!
* Travelled to Glastonbury for an enlightening meditation and talk.
* Bathed in the light of solar flares and enjoyed the simplicity of being.
* Had my two old mercury amalgam dental fillings removed and replaced with safer alternatives. The brain fog is now lifting!
* Continuing to choose organic food, where possible, and experimenting with raw deliciousness.
* Visited the Whitworth Art Gallery for a little creative stimulus.
* Spent time with loved ones in the physical realm ~ drinking tea, star-gazing, discussing life, and having fun.
* Pondered on soul song, the choices we make, and the path of truth.
* Listened to and interpreted lots of new downloads.
* Fell in love with Goldfrapp all over again with Yellow Halo.

Right now, I'm preparing for April's launch of Light Weaver and I'm dizzy with possibilities of travel and research trips for my next novel.

As I fall magically into springtime's spell, here in my little wooded corner by the sea, I wish you all that you wish for on life's wonderful journey.

Until next time ...Bright wishes x
