Disentangling -also known as untethering, unravelling, or detaching - is, for me, being mindful of thoughts, feelings, habits, routines, things, expectations and conventions that no longer serve (or perhaps never did) and letting them go. It's about choosing to live authentically and in a way that resonates with your heart.
My Disentangling
I've been disentangling for some time ... from materialism, the illusion of ownership, and from views, thoughts, practices and conventions that are non-nurturing or not from love or truth. It's an on-going process: a conscious choice. It involves being aware of life's journey, embracing change and taking on fresh perspectives.
Here are some of the ways I've disentangled:
* I gave up TV - (I occasionally watch films I'm inspired to see).
* I reduced my material clutter and live more minimally.
* I reduced my emotional clutter by clearing thoughts and feelings that weren't nurturing.
* I gave up home ownership and decided to live a more peripatetic lifestyle ~ one of the most liberating things I've ever done.
* I revised or let go of practices and ways of being and doing that weren't supporting me.
Life is for living. It is a journey of experience. Disentangling is a way of setting free limiting thoughts and practices so as to live more fully.
Disentangling is a continuing journey. I'm constantly aiming to be mindful of how I live from moment to moment. I'm in a state of change - always.
